Hitchcock, Edward, 1793-1864 · November 25, 1823
A letter to Benjamin Silliman in which Edward Hitchcock writes about his piece on the geology and mineralogy of the Connecticut River Valley and says that he will write a review of William Daniel Conybeare and William Phillips' book "Outlines of the Geology of England and Wales" for an upcoming issue of the American Journal of Science. Hitchcock also mentions a sermon he recently delivered discussing "mosaic cosmogony," which Hitchcock believes may cause controversy.
