A letter to Edward Hitchcock in which Benjamin Silliman discusses his recent visit to Hitchcock's house, Hitchcock's conflict with Dr. James Deane and his offense at some of Silliman's address to the Association of American Geologists and Naturalists, and offers Hitchcock the opportunity to write an editorial for the next issue of the Journal of American Science to make up for these offenses.
