Silliman, Benjamin, 1779-1864 · October 5, 1830
A letter to Edward Hitchcock in which Benjamin Silliman establishes a payment plan for issues of The American Journal of Science for the Society. He also indicates that he has received [Henry] De la Beche's chart, expresses his gladness that Hitchcock has become involved with the Geological Survey of the State, requests that Hitchcock let him know what he plans for future contributions to the Journal, and offers to send Hitchcock some books. Silliman has also written a note addressed to a Mr. Johnson at the end of the letter, describing his plans for the conveyance of some books.
