A letter to Edward Hitchcock in which Benjamin Silliman congratulates Hitchcock on the birth of his child and the health of Orra White Hitchcock. Silliman also expresses some concerns about Hitchcock's article recently included in The American Journal of Science, and his concerns about the future of the Journal.
