A letter to Edward Hitchcock in which Benjamin Silliman discusses several pieces written by Hitchcock for The American Journal of Science, including some on botony. Silliman also worries that a piece by Hitchcock will meet negative reception from the religious community if published, asks Hitchcock to write a review of William Conybeare and William Phillips' book, and advises against writing a piece for the Spectator on Mosaic chronology geology.
