A man has been invited to hunt legally on someone else's land, but complains that he has not caught anything sufficient. Upon its legalization, nineteenth-century Parisian bourgeoisie immediately took to the new fancy of hunting and hunted around the forests and countryside of Paris. A new “fashion” was born and members of the Parisian middle class developed a hitherto unknown snobbism and passion for this sport.
