Detail of 24' long by 8' high mural, acrylic paint on plywood. The mural is affixed to the side of the Boston Edison building in the Plaza Betances. Text on the ribbon above the mural reads, "Culture, legacy and our Latin pride." Artists Nora Valdez and Roberto Chao directed the project. Teenage participants in a three-month training program executed most of the work. This detail shows the upper middle segment which includes a scene depicting a battle between Spanish Conquistadors and Taino Indians.
