Peter Arbues, 1441-1485, stands on a short flight of steps where a group of people kneel with their arms tied behind their backs while clergymen with long robes and hoods stand guard. Ghostly figures are visible in the clouds and there appears to be a great deal of dark smoke in the air. Arbues has closed eyes and holds a cane which he uses to poke one of the kneeling figures. Arbues is aided by two people who guide his arms. Arbues was canonized for his role in the Spanish Inquisition.
