At age 82 in the 60th year of his reign. From note by Nelson Coon: "Much to be found in Encyclopedia Brittannica. Only mention as to blindness is the last paragraph: 'The remaining nine years (after the death of his favorite daughter Amelia) were in passes in insanity and blindness. He died January 29, 1820.'"
