Description from folio: "A musical group from the 'Quinze-Vingts' performing their music in "Cafe des Aveugles" in 1771 attracted the attention of Valentin Huay and inspired him to found the first school for the blind in the world. (Quinze-Vingt is the address of an ophthalmological hospital in Paris.) From painting by Jean-Baptiste-Siméon Chardin, French painter (1699-1779).
