Jackson, Reginald L. · 2002
A series of commemorative plaques/tablets created by Reginald L. Jackson and Valerie Maynard in 2002 in Ramsay Park in Roxbury. The plaques are specifically in memory of Captain Ramsay, but also honor other African Americans from Roxbury who were killed in the Vietnam War or in other wars. The plaques are placed in a row throughout the park that leads up to the Airfoil/Captain Ramsay sculpture. They are cylindrical and made of black granite and concrete. Each of the plaques either provides information on Captain Ramsay's life, such as a short bio and an etching of his school and church, or lists his name alongside other service members and their military rankings.
