1954
Sculpture created in 1954, located in the Mount Hope Cemetery in Mattapan. The sculpture was funded by the George Robert White Fund. Elevated on a cement platform, two benches face each other. Between the benches is a large formation in the shape of an upside capital letter "T", also made of cement. A bronze angelic figure is attached to the top of the formation. She holds a sword and a wreath. Beneath her, the words "In peace and honor rest you here" are etched into the cement, complemented with a wave pattern etching further below. Also etched into the cement are the words, " In memory of those who willingly offered life itself that man might be free. Greater love than this hath no man." A plaque below lists the founder and trustees of the sculpture.
