Sculpture created by Fern Cunningham in 1995 outside of the Joseph Lee School in Dorchester. The metal sculpture portrays three young children balancing the world above them. Two of the children stand upright holding one arm up to grasp the world above them. The third child stands on their hands with their feet in the air touching the world. The children's faces and clothes are portrayed with fine detail. On the ground in the middle of the circle formed by the children, directly under the globe they are lifting up, a plaque titles the sculpture "Earth Challengers: Life Children and the Hands of Time." Below it reads, "Fern Cunningham, 1995, The Lee Community School. In the middle of the plaque, a quote by Linda Creed reads, "I believe that children are our future. Teach them well and let them lead the way. Show them all the beauty they possess inside. Give them a sense of pride to make it easier. Let the children's laughter remind us how we used to be."
