Maynard, Valerie · 2002
A sculpture created in 2002 by Valerie Maynard and Reginald L. Jackson in Roxbury, funded by the Edward Ingersoll Browne Fund. Located in Ramsay Park, it is the centerpiece of a memorial for Roxbury residents who have fought in wars. It is specifically in honor of Captain David Ramsay, who died as a pilot in the Vietnam War. The sculpture, made with stainless steel and seventeen feet high, looks like a wing in flight, and rests upon a circular granite base, ten feet in diameter.
