An ornamental gateway to the Ryan Playground in Dorchester. It was funded by the Edward Ingersoll Browne Fund, the George B. Henderson Foundation, and the City of Boston. Four blue pillars hold up a gazebo-like shade structure. A sign displays the name of the playground. Two metal plaques are placed on the cubic concrete supports of the pillars. The words indicate that the playground was built as a memorial for Robert F. Ryan, a Dorchester native who served in World War II.
