Coppenhagen Fountain

Atkins, Albert Henry

A fountain by Albert Atkins in the Edward Everett Square in Dorchester, initially funded by Mehitable Calef Coppenhagen in dedication to her parents. It was initially installed at E Cottage Street in Dorchester in 1915, then reinstalled in Franklin Park in 1979, and then reinstalled again at its current location in 1992. A granite bowl stands at the bottom, and a bronze plaque above it depicts four people holding pottery. The back of the fountain reads "THE COPPENHAGEN FOUNTAIN \ IN MEMORY \ OF BELOVED \ PARENTS \ ADMCMXIV".
