Greenamyer, George · 2012
Sculpture created by George Greenamyer at the traffic island across from the Alexander the Great Park in Roslindale in 2012. It was funded by Edward Ingersoll Browne Trust Fund, Roslindale Village Main Street, and the New England Foundation for the Arts. A steel pole holds up a steering wheel that is parallel to the ground. Above the steering wheel are miniature pink, green, blue, and orange vehicles with human figures sitting on top of them. One green truck is painted with a lobster, another car features a dalmatian sitting on it, another has a bike, and yet another a US flag. Curved, spoon-like attachments to the wheel-like structure catch the wind, which causes it to rotate.
