He wears a hat from under which his full, but short hair protrudes. He wears an unbuttoned jacket, a buttoned vest under and white collar with bow tie. He is giving a single flower with his right hand to the young female. The female subject to his right wears her hair decoratively rolled/braided on the side and swept up into a bun behind her head. She wears a light-colored dress with dark collar, dark trim the length of the sleeves and a pleated ruffle at the hem of the dress. There is a pin/brooch at her throat. In the background are plants and a stair rail.
