Drawn February 2011: "It’s a radio transmitter!...a radio transmitter for speaking to God!” The line from Raiders Of The Lost Ark referencing the Ark of the Covenant was one of two movie scenes in memory that came to mind while I mused on this drawing, and on the computer laptop in general. The other was Pulp Fiction.  Both contained scenes who’s characters had opened a sought after lidded container thought to bear contents of great and unspeakable value. But whatever it was remained unseen and mysterious to the audience, or altogether supernatural. Something out of this world in both cases. The lidded computer laptop, it’s connection to the internet, to everyone else worldwide, and to the future itself is a device of inestimable value. It's capable of transmitting thoughts and ideas in ways that can potentially expand human consciousness beyond anything before, and to the farthest frontiers of the psyche. For those of Biblical worldview, it's arguably the means by which the prophesy “knowledge will increase” is being fulfilled. - Terence (February 25, 2023)
