Jane Addams wins Annual $5,000 Achievement Prize. Jane Addams, internationally known welfare worker, photographed in New York City October 13 as she received the annual $5,000 pictorial review achievement prize from Percy Waxman, editor. The prize is given each year to the woman who, in the opinion of the judges, contributes most to the national life in letters, art, science, philanthropy or social welfare. Miss Addams is head of the Hull House in Chicago. Last year the prize went to Mrs. Carrie Chapman Catt, suffrage worker.
