Art, Henry Warren · September 1988
Karen McCoy's "Forest Lamentation" environmental art installation, the year after snow storm that bent the tree. Tree bent over in 4 October 1987 snow storm. In September 1988 McCoy wrapped bent red maples (Acer rubrum) with burlap covering pieces of hematite next to the bark. The desired effect was to have red pigment slowly ooze through the burlap as the sculpture was exposed to the elements. View to west.
