This interview promoted Henri Lazarof's U.S. Premiere of his "Concertanti" by the an San Francisco Chamber Orchestra. Farley talks with Lazarof about the compositional process and the creative process in the creation of music. Lazarof mentions the challenges of working with commissions. Lazaroff does talk about the inspiration behind his "String Octet" and "Viola Concerto". His "Viola Concerto" started a lasting, working relationship with Violaist Milton Thomas. Toward the end of the interview, Farley delves into Lazarof's thoughts about electronic music and the relationship between computers and music.
