Folio 100r: Barman Says Old Qubad

As the Iranian and Turanian armies mass on the Plain of Dahistan, neither side makes the first move until. Barman, a young cousin ol Afrasiyab of Turan, charges up to the Iranian front. Only one soldier responds to his challenge to fight. Qubad, chief paladin before Zal and Rustam, scizes his lance and rushes at Barman. After dueling for many hours, Barman prevails and Qubad falls to his death.
