The church of Grinneröds was completed in 1859. The lower part of the tower is considered to be preserved from the medieval church that had previously existed in the same place. The stepped tower is unique to Bohuslän. From the medieval church there are many furnishings preserved. Most can be dated to the late 1600s. Thus the altarpiece of 1672 and the pulpit of 1675. The baptismal find, of the limestone (which is a property of the district of Bohusländer), also dates from the 16th century. One number board comes from the old church, the other is a well-made copy. The blackboard over the baptismal altar depicts the “Purgatory of the widow.” The front chandelier dates from the 16th century, the two others of later dates. In 1942 the sacristy was built and the church obtained new benches. The church basket is a Hammarberg organ with 12 moods. The Sculptures on the Farmers' Breast Imagine The Justification with the Weight Bowl, Faith with the Lime, Hope with the Anchor and The Care with a Serpent in the Hand. Source: “Our Churches p. 500.”
