Lyse has had a church since the 1100-1200th century. The ruin (see picture) forms the place where the old churches stood. In 1851 the church was expanded and rebuilt, but burned down a Sunday afternoon in 1909. Thoughts were available to use the ruin as road material, which was well preserved and used during the summer in church services and vicares. The present church was inaugurated in 1912. Architect was Sigfrid Ericsson, Gothenburg. The church is built with the red residential granite and has slate roofs. The style is national romantic with the involvement of Art Nouveau. The pictures of the altarpiece depict the risen Jesus Christ between two soldiers. It is made in a linden by Henry Nilsson, Hässleholm. The Triumcrucifix is a work by Valfrid Andersson, Forshälla, 1958. The baptismal find in granite is from Norra Grundsund (Lyse) and made there in 1913 after the instructions of architect Ericsson. The pulpit is beautifully worked and sculpted at furniture carpenter H Pettersson’s workshop in Gothenburg. The Eucharist is from the Middle Ages Church and dates from 1858/1672.
