Lerum’s Church is a harmonious association of many centuries of building art and crafts skills. The present church began to be built in 1681. It was inaugurated in 1687. Inventory from a former church is preserved, including two sculptures from the 14th century (the Holy Sigfried and Erik the Holy). Both are now located on the north long wall. At the middle of the 17th century, the inner roof of the church was painted by Christian Drab. Then the beautifully sculpted pulpit was also bestowed on the church. In 1899 the two cross arms were built. The altarpiece dates from the early 19th century. Source: “Our Churches p. 514.”
