The original is in the next-archive. Uddevalla Church was inaugurated on 22 December 1811. The fire of the city in 1806 also took the church. The characteristic of Uddevalla Church is the freestanding tower on the ridge of Klocktower, on the other side of the Great NyDet. The church can accommodate around 600 seats and also has two side rangers. Dominating is Westin’s 1842 altarpiece: Jesus blesses the children. In 1937-38 the church underwent a thorough restoration. New organ is ordered and is expected to come in 1992. Source: “Our Churches p. 500.”
