Enander, Ingeborg

In the 1840s, the south, east and north walls of the old church were demolished, dating back to the 1100s. At the same time, the church was widened and extended. The only thing left of the medieval sanctuary is the west wall. The tower was built in 1785, replacing the old belfry. The altarpiece dates from 1635. A younger (from the middle of the 18th century) upper piece to the altarpiece stands next to the organ. On the altar stands a 17th century crucifix and on the side of this a pair of ore fences with the 1846 century. The baptismal find stands in the middle of the church court bench. It is a shedding of the old nave of the church (probably from the 1100s), which is kept at the Statens Historical Museum in Stockholm. The pulpit is similar to the altarpiece of the last half of the 16th century. Four bells hang in the tower. Two of them were fattened in 1926, one is from the 1300s (used in thanksgiving) and one from the 1500s (not used now). Source: “Our Churches p. 498.” ISBN 91- 971561-08.
