Copper-alloy miniature socketed axehead of Roman date. The object is sub-rectangular and tapers from the mouth to the edge of the blade. There is a small circular scar, likely to be from the missing loop, approximately one third of the distance from the mouth to the blade on one side and an elongated semi-circular recess where the same side joins the mouth. There is a circular aperture, possibly a rivet hole, in the centre of the object close to the mouth. The axehead is 21mm long, 16.7mm wide, 7.9mm thick and it weighs 5.33g.
