New Editorial Cartoon: "That's Not Evidence" Political cartoons are often at their strongest when they distill a complex public debate into a single visual contradiction. My latest cartoon was inspired by the Wisconsin interview between President Trump and NBC's Kristen Welker. Rather than focusing on the personalities involved, I was interested in a broader question: What counts as evidence? The cartoon uses a flooded Wisconsin farm as a metaphor for the tension between direct observation and institutional interpretation—a debate that increasingly shapes politics, media, and public trust. Whether readers agree or disagree with the cartoon's perspective, I hope it encourages reflection on how we evaluate information and who gets to define reality. Art has always been one of society's most effective tools for exploring difficult questions.
