Russell Epprecht · 1987-04-02T00:00:00Z
THURSDAY APRIL 2, 1987 – SUNDAY APRIL 26, 1987 Mexican Visions presents the work of painter and writer Russell Epprecht. The exhibition features Epprecht's paintings inspired by a sojourn in Huautla, near the Sierra Mazateca mountains of Mexico. The paintings, which were completed in New York, combine figural abstraction with emotional intensity. These works formed what Epprecht refers to as ‘an incomplete post-modern Tarot deck’. Titles of the works include “Fire God,” “Rape,” “Revolution,” “Judgment”, and “Resurrection.”
