Folio 119v: Rustam's Third Course: He Slays a Dragon

Atter crossing a desert and finding, water and game, Rustam again lies down to sleep. This time a dragon appears, visible only to Rakhsh. Twice the horse whinnies to warn his master, and twice Rustam berates Rakhsh for waking, him. The third time, the dragon roars, and Rakhsh and Rustam attack, biting the beast's neck and slicing off its head, respectively.
