Folio 96v: Shah Nauzar Embraces Sam

Before his death Manuchihr advises his son Nauzar that trouble lies ahead in the form of threats from the Turanians and that Sam, Zal, and Rustam will help him overcome his enemies. Nauzar inherits the throne but quickly antagonizes his advisers and subjects. To stave off a rebellion, he summons Sam. When the old paladin arrives, Nauzar embraces him and swears to take his advice and to rule justly.
