Folio 57v: Qaran Captures tbe Castle of the Alans

To prevent Salm from sheltering in his impenetrable castle, Manuchihr sends the courtier Qaran, disguised as a Turanian, with the official seal taken from the defeated. Tur. Qaran relieves the gatekeeper and. summons the Iranian army, which storms the castle and burns it to the ground.
