MACKLIN BIBLE VIGNETTE PAIR FOR THE BOOK OF EXODUS; BOWYER BIBLE #0787 Exodus cap 13 v 12; #1204 Genesis cap 1 v 26. Philip James de Loutherbourg's designs for a pair of vignettes decorating a book of Scripture as an engraved head-piece and tail-piece in the Macklin Bible (ca.1790–1800). Loutherbourg's pen and wash drawings are now pasted into a grangerised Macklin Bible known as "The Bowyer Bible" in Bolton, England (item numbers given above). The lower of the two numbers is for the Headpiece design; the higher number is for the Tailpiece.
