Alder / Fearn, acrylic and collage, 30x30”, on 7/8” deep canvas. Alder / Fearn is part of the Ogham Tree Alphabet series. I started with a drawing of the leaves and flowers of the alder tree, known in the ancient Irish tree alphabet as Fearn. The colors are arbitrary, focusing on cool pinks and blue greens. Some of my favorite shapes appear here as well.
