Folio 151v: Rustam and Subrab in Battle: The First Day

As the Iranian army masses before the White Castle, Suhrab charges the shah's tent. Only Rustam, not knowing Suhrab's identity, accepts his challenge. The com bat that ensues lasts all day but ends in a draw. With the armies thus engaged, Rustam rides oll in pursuit of the Turanians, and Suhrab gallops in the direction of the Iranians.
