Folio 84v: Sindukht Comes to Sam Bearing Gifts

Sindukht, in the guise of Mihrab's ambassadress, meets with Sam. The retinue bearing her gift of horses, elephants, silks, gold coins, slaves, and gems stretches tor two miles. Considering Sindukht's offer, Sam decides that the only way to avoid the wrath of Manuchihr or Zal is to entrust the riches to Zal's treasurer, to be held in trust for Rudaba. At this good news Sindukht's companions bring bowls of rubies to pile before Sam.
