Photos by Isaac Villela of  the "Saint John the Evangelist/San Juan Evangelista" and "Saint Augustine-San Agustín" Mexican feather mosaics, as presented at the "Relatos Artísticos de la Conquista" exhibit at the Museo Franz Mayer, loaned from the Colección de Daniel Liebsohn. Feather Mosaics such as this were produced by Indigenous Aztec, Purepecha, etc artists for the Spanish, a continuation of a Prehispanic art form used on garments, textiles, warsuits, shields, helmets etc.  Please see the companion upload for videos . The JPG and PNG files present here are also on Wikimedia, though the NEF raw format photos are only present here. As seen with the verified licenses on Wikimedia, Villela approved the upload of these images on both platforms with the CC BY license.   Saint John the Evangelist: 16th-17th century (inconsistently documented between the two) Hummingbird and other Feathers and Paper on Copper sheet backing 36.3x25.8cm Loaned from the Col.
