100 FUTURES LOST. My most recent palate painting. I used the canvas to mix colours for other paintings. This left me with blobs of paint creating various unintentional shapes. I studied the shapes to find the simulacra effect then I developed and enhansed the shapes. It is the favourite of my friends and it has been diescribed as a 'happy and bright' painting; but, as I think like a teacher I must convey a message of educational abuse created by the closure of so many primary schools over the past 30 years. This painting represents 100 children's futures lost by the closure of just one s chool. The figures and faces are explorations of many styles and directions but as a whole they create motion and landscape. Reminds me of ancient iconic religious paintings; stain glass windows and traditional xmass cards.
