Enraged by the abduction of his daughter and his defeat in the war to avenge Sivavush, Atrasiyab resolves again to wage war on Iran. Ranged on two mountains, the armies face off without fighting tor seven days, but on the eighth day Human rides across the plain and challenges the Iranians. Bizhan sallies forth, and the two decide to duel at dawn. They fight throughout the dav until Bizhan gains the advantage and beheads his foe.
