Excavated 1901 by the west outside palace wall, Knossos, between Magazines 13 and 16.This figure was dubbed "La Parisienne" by Sir Arthur Evans because her elegant appearance seemed the Minoan equivalent of contemporary Paris fashion. The figure is part of a larger composition with seated figures known as the "Campstool" fresco, which likely decorated an upper hall on the west side of the palace. The red knot, known as a sacral knot, behind her head likely indicates that she is a priestess. Since this restoration was made a large joining fragment of her body has been found and reattached. The original is in the Archaeological Museum of Herakleion, Crete.
