From Knossos, probably found in the 1880's and the gift of Constantine, King of Greece. The site of Knossos before Sir Arthur Evans excavated there was known locally as "Ta Pitharia" or the Storage Jars because of pithoi, like this one, that had been found there. The original is in the National Archaeological Museum, Athens.
