A portrait of Bob Westerhof when he was a young man serving in the Navy. He grew up on the family farm north of Donahue, IA.  He was in the Naval Reserves from 1964 -1966, and in 1968-1970. He was an active duty sailor from 1966-1968. He met Pauline Mifsud while she was attending college in Malta, Europe and he was stationed in the Mediterranean.  After several years of writing letters and visiting each other, they got married on December 23, 1971.
