The leg covering shown was worn by a girl in the nineteenth century. It is a garment for the summer. The leg covering is fastened with cotton bands, presumably to a belt around the waist.Men also wore such leg coverings in the summer.\The leggings were worn by both sexes in combination with a knee-length top shirt, also referred to as a dress, and an undershirt. In winter, mainly men wore leggings of a double layer of fur.In the first half of the 20th century, such indigenous garments gradually fell into disuse.Today, Russian and European clothing is worn.
