The huipil is woven with cotton in a hip loom. On the huipil there are brocades. A brocade is a decorative technique where extra threads are added to the warp and weft during the weaving itself. Moreover, the huipil consists of two pieces of woven fabric that are sewn together. In addition, on the huipil, there are several large holes covered with white commercial fabric.A huipil is used exclusively by women to cover the upper part of the body (torso, shoulders). This huipil is intended for ceremonial use. Probably this huipil is also used to dress the statue of a saint. The holes at chest height of the huipil indicate this, as the arms of the saint's statue probably protruded through the holes. \Furthermore, the background colour of the huipil is white. It is decorated with all kinds of geometric, plant and bird motifs in different colors. \It is a municipality in the department of Guatemala. The municipality covers an area of 105 km² and is located at 1,350m above sea level. The first inhabitants of Chuarrancho were from the municipality of San Juan Sacatepéquez. They lived in huts (Choza or casucha), where the roof was made of leaves or straw. Chuarrancho was finally founded on November 26, 1883 and was declared a municipality in 1905.‖ The name Chuarrancho comes from the Cakchiquel language. The name literally means "opposite the hut": Chuach and rancho mean opposite and hut respectively. It is believed that Chuarrancho was called Paruvi' Juyu' by the first inhabitants, which means "on the hill".‖ The last information on the population of Chuarrancho dates back to 2007. In that year, this municipality had a population of 21,706 (11,731 non-Mayan and 9,975 Mayan).
