girls' tunic and trousers set, ... ..., k'u-ao, of white satin with decoration of gold and silver thread (attached to the fabric by transverse stitches of silk thread in different colors) in the form of flower branches of the \nu-tan peony. The edges of the dress are trimmed with \nultramarine blue piping. The lining of the tunic is blue silk. Cut of both garments is according to the old style, sewing by hand. It is likely that the buttons are not contemporary. Fashion of circa 1900. On the classical stage, such garments, along with a brilliantly embroidered belt, are worn by the hua-tan role. \Item: Cecilia Zung, Secrets of the Chinese Drama, page 21 and illustrations 62 and 63. \ÊÊÊÊÊÊÊÊÊÊHenny Harald Hansen, Mongol Costumes
