The cloth was made in the Koninklijke Weefgoederenfabriek, formerly C.T. Stork en Co, in Hengelo. It was intended for export by the Moluksche Handelmaatschappij to the Dutch East Indies (Gorontalo, North Sulawesi) to serve as sarong dress. However, this company no longer considered it worthwhile to do this export. Other companies continued to do so.
