Charles Cabrier II · 1741-01-01T00:00:00Z
The quarter-repeating movement of this watch is the work of the second Charles Carbrier, member of a distinguished family of London watchmakers. Repoussé gold outer cases for watches were in demand in the middle of the eighteenth century, but only a few of the better ones were signed. In the scene on this example, the figure of the Greek god Apollo was adapted from an etching by Sébastien Leclerc (1637–1714).
