Excavated 1900 in the South Propylaeum, Knossos.The "Cupbearer" fresco was the first portrayal of an ancient Cretan to be discovered during Evans's excavations at Knossos. The figure holds a large conical rhyton, a ritual vessel used to pour libations, and was part of a larger group of processional figures, of whom Gillieron partially restored one more on this panel.The original is in the Archaeological Museum of Herakleion, Crete.
